Guadalupe is named after Our Lady of Guadalupe and the miraculous image of her that appeared on the tilma of the humble peasant Saint Juan Diego on December 12, 1531. The image and her message lead to hundreds of thousands of conversions to Christianity in the New World. The image can still be seen at Tepeyac Hill in Mexico. Our Lady of Guadalupe, ora pro nobis!
